Songs you know, or will want to know…

performed as you never heard them before!

Short Bio

The Indigo Breeze Sextet is a unique collaboration that performs straight-ahead jazz and jazz-influenced arrangements of familiar tunes from Latin musical traditions, R&B and Pop standards.

We receive high praise for our variety of selections, from gentle ballads to energetic sambas and swing, featuring songs from Chuck Mangione and Stevie Wonder, to Santana and Louis Armstrong.

The Sextet began performing in the Rochester area in September 2022, to full houses at area clubs, private events and at the JCC’s CenterStage for the 2023 Rochester Fringe Festival. Five of our members have previously performed at the Rochester International Jazz Festival, in several different bands.

Our audiences love the invigorating experience of music that feels familiar, and at the same time brand new!

Music!

Many people think of “Jazz” as music of the mid-century Big Bands and Combos, biut don’t realize that much of their music was based on pop tunes of the day
(show tunes, The Great American Songbook, etc.)

Indigo Breeze performs traditional jazz tunes as well as our own arrangements of pop tunes from the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s, creating an experience that is familiar and at the same time refreshingly new!

  • Testimonials

“Indigo Breeze has become a house favorite at Faircraft Brauhaus. Indigo Breeze brings great talent, great music selections and a strong following to their performances. !”

    — Jeff Reimer, Faircraft Brauhaus

“Indigo Breeze played at our Porsche Club 60th anniversary celebration in September 2022. They played smooth, fun, easy listening jazzy music that complimented our cocktail hour. People were able to enjoy the music and still carry on conversations with friends. After our sit down dinner, the band switched it up to more lively selections adding their unique interpretation to danceable tunes. Everyone enjoyed the music!”

    — John & Betty Jerabeck

“The delightful music group, Indigo Breeze, has a soothing logo and an easy to use website. The bonus? Their music is a gift to the ears and the soul. I have listened to their recording of “Chase the Clouds Away” so much-that if it was an LP I would have carved a permanent groove in it in one evening.”

    — Jane Margulies Kalbfeld, Actor/Singer, Voice Teacher
