“Are you being served?”

Sharing our thoughts, inspirations, dreams, ideas and more…

Well, I never thought I would write a blog, but here I am! I am delighted to share these with you, and will make every effort to do so each weeek. Here is my first thought.

Musicians often toss about the concept that we should “serve the song.” Recently I was asked “What does the phrase ‘Serve the song’ mean to a you as musician?”

I much prefer “serve the music” or “honor the music.” It’s about more than those few minutes of a tune.

For me, bringing melody, harmony and rhythm into the world is a kind of birthing process. Our band takes great care in preparation cfor each performance, and we may never know how lives will be touched. But we know they WILL be touched.

It is an honor and a blessing to serve the msuic - and you! - in that way.

We are a PARTY BAND! And we just made it easier for you to have a party!

Let’s have a party!

Having a party is great fun, whether it is a wedding, anniversary, birthday party, reunion or company picnic. But sometimes it can seem like a lot of work to pull it together.

We just made that easier! Indigo Breeze is collaborating with Pat’s’ Pigs - a terrific BBQ provider, owned and operated by Pat Roache, whom I have known since he was a boy. Pat has provided  fantastic food for our family gatherings for years, starting for a memorable pig roast for a big wedding anniversary picnic years ago. In recent years he has delivered tasty , hot BBQ for smaller 4th of July picnics. Our friends and family all love Pat and his delicious BBQ, and you will too!

Throwing a memorable party is now easy! Just arrange a venue (a park pavilion,  party hall, community room, etc.), and whatever you want people to drink (cups, too). We will provide the music, a BBQ menu of your choice, paper plates, disposable cutlery, napkins, etc.  For bigger events, Pat can do a pig roast or maybe bring his new food truck!  Subject to available dates, of course.

For info, contact me at welcome@indigo-breeze.com. You will have a party to remember, and since we take care of food and music, it will be a party you can enjoy yourself!

In January I reconnected with Jessica Burns, who sang with my original class of teens in the Dreamseeds Jazz Band, formed in 2015. Jess is working locally in healthcare and will be starting nursing school this year. I invited her to come to rehearsal this week and she instantly got the attention of the whole band. She can really sing!

Jess will be our special guest when we perform at Faircraft Brauhaus March 1, 7-9 PM, singing two classic Soul songs you are sure to love. Come out and feel her power - and all the love!
